Experts on PuffLabs are independent contractors, not employees. You choose the projects you take, work to your own schedule, use your own equipment, and invoice us for completed work.
We work with experts across most of the world. A few regions are off-limits to us because of international sanctions and payment rules we're required to follow - it's about where we can legally operate and send payments, not about you. If you're based in a restricted location but have skills that could help on the management side (for example data operations), email admin@pufflabs.work and we'll see what's possible.
Questions experts ask
Am I an employee of PuffLabs?
No - you're an independent contractor. You choose the projects you take, work to your own schedule, and use your own equipment. You're responsible for your own taxes in your country; PuffLabs doesn't withhold tax or provide employee benefits.
Can I work with other clients?
Yes. You're independent - you're free to take on other clients and projects alongside the work you do with PuffLabs.
What equipment do I need?
Your own computer and a reliable internet connection - we don't supply equipment. For projects that require activity tracking, you'll need a desktop or laptop running Windows 10 or later, or macOS 12 or later, so our desktop app can run. Devices that can't run it (for example Chromebooks, tablets, or phones) can't be used for tracked projects - but you may still be matched to projects that don't require tracking. Please be honest about what you can run; it just helps us match you to the right work.
Where can experts be based?
Most of the world. A small number of regions are off-limits to us because of international sanctions and payment rules we're required to follow. If you're not sure whether this affects you, just reach out - we're happy to help.
